Egluntyne
Found this link on another forum http://www.exoticdirect.co.uk/ They insure chickens. Are you sitting down? It is £41.40 pa for 1st bird and £35.52pa for each additional bird That would cost me nearly £300!

theherd123
I agree it is a little costly but if you have an expensive vet bill it might be worth it
Cate in NZ
Yikes.... I guess mine will be remaining uninsured then That said for those with valuable breeding birds it may be a good investment.... but probably simply not worth it for those of us with fairly commonplace (in terms of breed) pet hens. One Man Banned
For the most of us with two hens that's £6.51 a month and I bet there's lots of exclusions (will have to go to their site tomorrow as must go to bed for work!) A xx
Louise
Looks pretty rubbish if you read the exclusins and compare it to what we have seen ill health wise here If the chicken escapes and gets hurt not covered. Attack by vermin not covered. Egg laying problems not covered. Beak and claw problems not covered. Feather pecking own or other birds not covered. Injury caused by another of your own pets not covered and pre existing problems that re occur not covered
Lesley
Well, that is just about everything you would need covering

Louise
Like most pet insurance not much as they can have a get out for most accidents and only cover you once for any illness

Trish
They want how much?!! And you only covered if the chook gets struck by plague on the 9th Wednesday of a month with X in it, and only then if the winds in the right direction and the skys turned pink. Daylight robbery if you ask me
