Janty
We were looking at these ages ago but decided that it didn't cook enough for the whole family so we're safe.
abwsco
I think it's cheaper elsewhere as well. Also, how can it be low fat cooking. Just seen a bit of the demo and for chilli I'd usually brown the mince and drain off the fat, whereas this was all put in together. Sausages I'd also grill as well so they're not sitting in fat. Am I missing something?
fluffyknickers
I got one because you lot all MADE me Still only done chips in it though as still dont know how to do anything else in it! Its much better though than our old deep fat fryer and less smelly - I say GO FOR IT PS this site has cost me a fortune! Michelle
abwsco
I forgot to say I saw them in Makro today but didn't notice the price as I was too busy drooling over the cheap Roomba 530 which DH wouldn't let me buy

Am I missing something? Yes, you are missing the chip factor For home made chips you only need a dribble of oil, for sausages I don't think you add any at all,nor for oven chips (which come out beautifully!) Minimal oil needed for everything else too, as the fan thingy sort of sprays it around inside. Its really, really good
Old Speckled Hen
Will it cook chips really golden brown and crispy and can you leave the skins on? That's how I do mine in the oven with just a spray of oil. I suppose it would be cheaper to run than an oven?
LisaP
It does lovely chips and it does enough for us - family of 6 - if you're having them alongside something. Also does a very nice chicken and pineapple meal (from the recipe book) according to carnivorous men in this house, although as a veggie I've never tried it Lisa P

craftyhunnypie
I watched this last night. The lady was doing a chilli in it & a prawn stir fry. We were intrigued, but we want a Bamix before an Actifry! Emma.x
tiggerlady
I watched it and decided that my life wont end if I dont have one..would rather put the money towards a cube
abwsco
I watched it and decided that my life wont end if I dont have one..would rather put the money towards a cube Same as me - lol although the Roomba is still high on my list as well. I'm also still not convinced that it's a low fat method of cooking, apart from for chips.
Old Speckled Hen
Yes I'll stick with my oven. I have too may gadgets that are never used. BUT the steam generator iron I bought at the Ideal Home Show is wonderful. How did I manage without one? Same as me - lol although the Roomba is still high on my list as well. I'm also still not convinced that it's a low fat method of cooking, apart from for chips. If you choose the right spuds (ie ones that won't break up) you can get away with just a light spray of oil in an oven tray. I leave the skins on and they are yummy
