Well we are only a few miles out of Herefordshire and into Worcestershire Perhaps we could have a Hereford & Worcester omleteers get-together? They used to get other organic feed, which they loved and the pellets were smaller, but I can't remember what brand that was. Wouoldnt know about the difference it makes to the eggs as I cant bear them!!Would rather have teeth pulled out than eat eggs But I lurve ma gurlies to bits!! I paid £8.30 and thought that was enough seems to be a big price range across the country and apart from your post, pellets in herefordshire seem to be the dearest Dobsons and Horrells in Hereford Pets at Home are £9.20 now. abwsco Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 I was going to buy some A & P today but the shop has stopped stocking it as it was too dear so I've got some Fancy Feed Layers I think they were £7.35 (bought other things like you do!) but only for 20kg. It's the only organic feed I can get around here, although Egg Lou has offered to get it from near where she works which is slightly cheaper - not a lot though. I think the original one was from The Organic Feed Company, but now the guy only has the Farmgate version. So saying that I don't know why I bother with the organic side of things particularly when the rest of my family have been stuffing Pot Noodles like there's no tomorrow. Are eating the omlet pellets every morning, but not lots. do I throw the left overs or can they have it next morning, seems a hugh waste and expense to throw away. Giving them dried corn for bed time and they quite like that, not impressed with anything else, tried corn on cob, cucumber and grapes but not eating any of them, quite like the grass though!!! Did try pellet and hot water ( think this is Mash ) very thick consistency though, they just pooed on that!! Am I doing the right thing. Many Thanks, Margaret. (please) open eglu at 5.45, but before doing so put out fresh water and food, mad rush as trying to do hair etc before catching the train, could I do this after they have gone to bed? easier to crawl around in dark in track bottoms, rather than suit and heels!!! Redwing Posted May 13, 2009 Share Posted May 13, 2009 I check my hens food and water in the evening and top up as necessary as sometimes I leave home early too, I do always go out and check up on them before I leave for work to ensure everyone is perky Many people do take the feeder in overnight to discourage vermin, I personally don't but that doesnt mean I am right!!
