Janepie33
But I didn't mean to. Honestly! Last week I made some lovely cauliflour and lentil soup. Yesterday I thought I would give the rest of it to the chickens as it was a bit past its sell by date. OH has been off work since last week, decorating and while I was at work he decided to have some soup. When I got home, he looked a bit rough, having developed rather violent gastroenteritis. The soup seemed to be the culprit. Boy do I feel guilty! I have tucked him up in bed with plenty of fluids. He is insisting on going in to work tomorrow, but having read the NHS website, I don't think that is such a good idea. Does anyone know? Are people usually contagious if they have food poisioning? mostin
just in case it wasn't your soup he really shouldn't return to work for 48 hours after the symptoms stop, so he doesn't pass it on to any of his colleagues in case it's a virus. We have to work by this rule in the NHS so we don't have epidemics of stomach upsets amongst the staff

Guest
Poor hubby You don't have an ancestor called Florence Maybrick by any chance do you? I know where Battlecrease is, we went to see it when we heard a film was being made about James Maybrick. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/exorcist-director-to-make-film-of-the-ripper-diaries-714920.html Doesn't look like the film was ever made though. Patricia W
It could be that dreaded Norovirus and nothing to do with the soup. Nasty - very virulent for about 8 hours and then you feel like death. I agree - 48 hours after the symptons have stopped is best. "Ooops, word censored!"ody will thank him for passing it on! We all had this in the autumn when my son and daughter- in- law brought it back from a trip to Vienna - I blame the plane .. Sorry Christian - I'm sure your planes are pristine !
