I Can Hear Peeping!

Recommended Posts

:lol::lol::lol: How did you guess? I've moved the incy into the bedroom from the landing because it's easier to view hatching chicks from the comfort of my room plus I love hearing them peeping to one another. The incubator is noisy, so is the peeping, and I'm excited so I've started on a bottle of wine in the hope it knocks me out :lol::lol::lol:

Cute dorking pic.... 1 girl, 1 boy??

I don't know. I thought it'd be easy to tell, maybe it will be when they've all dried off. I thought girls had black stripes on their heads, boys brown, but they both seem to have equal amounts of black and brown

Total so far is:

4 Dorkings (3 now in the brooder)

2 Black Orpingtons

1 Lavender Aracauna

1 Poland and it looks to be a blue one, tis quite dark. Dad is blue, Mum is Splash so we'll get some of each.

A few others pipped but no movement so far from the Houdans which is disappointing. Nothing from the two Wyandottes either but considering their air sacs are on their sides I wasn't expecting miracles.

One more Aracauna has hatched but the remaining one died in it's shell. It had pipped this morning and didn't make any further progress. I checked on the remaining eggs tonight and it had gone :(

There are a few more pippers in there and I've left the latest Aracauna and a very weak Dorking lad in for the night. The rest are in the brooder beating each other up  One of the Orps looks as if it might have spraddle legs. If it's still the same in the morning it'll be sporting a plaster on it's legs.

Four Dorkings so far and I think I've got two of each :D
