Falkor Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 This is the egg that we got from Snowball yesterday sitting next to Fizz`s normal egg. Snowballs (Amber Star) weighs 99g ( Just missed out on ANH board) and Fizz's her standard 52g. OH even forgave Snowball the extremly loud egg announcing song that she decided needed to go on for about ten minutes solid (at 7am!) when I showed him the egg! Snowball is my little egg laying machine.....I don`t think she has had a day off since she got into the swing of laying and I think we have had at least one double yolker every week from her. Wondering if it is a single yolk?? probably about 10 yolks at that size. Didnt know they could go so big. Electricbarbarella Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 I had a triple yolker early on, it was fab. cant remember how much it weighesd but it made it to the board. mine have evened out as they have got older, we used to get really big ones and double yolkers a lot, havent had a double yolker at all yet this year. If I hadn't seen her go in and out of the previously-empty nestbox, I'd have thought an ostrich had passed by, it was so enormous . No more huge eggs since though. redranger Posted June 2, 2009 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Some of my hens have laid some enormous eggs - but they've all been eaten (yum). I never thought to weigh them before! The ones they layed last night all weighed between 53 - 58gms. I thought they would be heavier than that! Next time I get a biggie, I will weigh it before I eat it!
