I was studying the forum as one does and a voice of ES 13 from kitchen said " is this s'pose to be happening?" Muttering under my breath I staggered into the kitchen to see tonights rice doing brilliant impression of a volcano and erupting onto stove. OMG. Why do they are such daft questions - of course its not suppose to be doing that. when I switched it off he muttered "oh its rice" and wandered off

I am sorry I didnt know anyone had a phobia of rice when I posted this thread. I was just amazed at this intelligent lad standing at the hob staring at this mess which would be his dinner. I hd to laugh when he realised it was rice. What did he think it was

When we lived in our last house if anything burnt or a bit of steam went into the hall the smoke alarm ued to go off. One night ES considerably younger wandered into the kitchen ( and bear in mind it hadnt gone off yet) and asked "what are you burning tonight?" I consider myself a reasonble cook just scatty and apt to leave things to boil dry on the hob while I chat on phone or come on here

To use the washing machine - open door, put dirty clothes in, close door, open draw, one scoop of washing power in first bit, one capful of fabric softener in second bit, turn dial to 30 degrees, press go. Done!

I was taught to iron shirts by a boyfriend at Uni, who I think was then (just) still a teenager! He could cook, too, and his Mum was a florist - a sad loss, really.

I don't mind rice - but cant stand rice pudding . It's disgusting.

 

I know, normal rice - Yum Yum Yum and that can be white rice, brown rice, wild rice, long grain, basmati etc etc

 

Take some short grain rice, and add milk and sugar to it and suddenly you have the most disgusting, evil, hideous concoction ever known to man

 

BTW - I can also cook, clean, use the washing machine, hoover, mow the lawn, iron etc etc, but there again I am 35!
