Gym anyone?

Recommended Posts

Today I joined a gym - I have decided to try to get fit and toned before my 30th birthday in November.

It will cost me £62 per month with a discount, but I decided to spend some money on myself for once!

Anyone else on a fitness program or does everyone think I have made a mistake!

Here is the link to the gym! I like the chav fighting class!

I pay £50 a month to do the odd swim and drink coffee!!!!

I asked for directions to the gym last week. I'll get back to it soon! I also do pole dancing classes there (greatly reduced price) but at the moment they don't have an instructor (but they are looking, they did invest a lot of money on the poles!). They are starting Burlesque soon and I'm going to have a go at that!

For Chav fighting there are no classes but you can always go down saarrrfend on a Friday night for a free session (don't all say I'm being horrid - its been on the telly often enough, when they follow the police dealing with drunks and fights)

I'm on a new health and fitness regime, i go to the gym Mon Wed and Fris and if i manage to get motivated i go on a Sunday as well, I have noticed a massive difference for it actually and i doo enjoy going, i go to a women only gym wiht classes, sauna and sunbeds for £20 a month. ive lost 2.5 stone so far just another 2.5 to go!!

Keep at it! you will notice a change in how you feel in a few weeks! i used to have sleeping problems but the nights i go to the gym i get the best nights sleep ever!!! let u know how you get on!

well I joined the gym a few weeks ago when I got the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Started swimming 4x a week. And today? today I'm at the gym.... i'm sitting with my laptop and a large mocha reading Omlet posts while fit people sweat all around me.:lol:

I also joined the gym a few weeks ago and it only costs £32 a month so I thought I'd get a personal trainer at £20 per session for one session per week. I absolutely love it, he makes me work twice as hard and really wants me to get results. I desperately want and need to loose weight. Last year I went to slimming world and lost 2st but it all went back on again. One thing is for sure you definately feel better when you become more active and eat a healthier diet.

Some of the classes videos are funny (pole dancing especially)

Well done for joining the gym, looks great! I always joined a gym and after a few months of going I would give up. 20 minutes walk there was always very discouraging, at least for me. You will feel great after few weeks!

I've paid for gym membership that I haven't made use of too many times (more fool me!)

I try to lead an active lifestyle, walking to and from the train station and gardening, but I am feeling the need for an exercise boost at the moment. I phoned a good gym, close to work, with a pool, to see if they had any offers on. They did! £69 for 6 weeks. No joining fee and no ongoing commitment. Suits me! I will join next week!

I used to enjoy light weight training! I'm not so sure now!

I've joined a gym too as i had to as part of my physiotherapy. I go on a Mon, Weds and Fri, it costs me £25 a month. It's only a tiny gym and there is no cafe to distract me. It's only five minutes down the road so it's perfect really. I'm slowly building up my fitness, but seeing as 6 months ago i was in a wheelchair if i had to walk for more than five minutes, i'm pretty impressed that i can now do 7 minutes cycling, 5 minutes rowing, 10 minutes treadmill and still do all my cleaning etc. I also do Yogalates on a Tues and Thurs.

Keep it up, i wish i'd stayed fit from when i was younger but at least i'm making up for it now.

I love going to the gym however at the moment I am out of action.

After digging up the garden on Sunday my forearm began to ache, having never experienced this before I went to a chiroprctor who said it is a form of repetitive strain. I am now in agony whenever i move my arm. I have tried tiger balm, hot and cold compress.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make it feel better? :boohoo:

I will do anything, all ideas welcome

Doing nothing is what will help. rest, rest and more rest!

Have you been advised to take any painkillers?

I'd favour ibuprofen over paracetamol for this type of injury, because of it's anti inflammatory action.

I'm not a health professional though and would advise you to check with your pharmacist.
