A scoop of this, a scoop of that?!

Recommended Posts

Morning,

Does anyone else feel like they are forever scooping?

Into the girls food goes:

1 scoop of poultry spice

1 scoop of garlic powder

1 scoop of bokashi bran

1 scoop of diatom

In the girls water goes:

1 scoop of apple cider vinegar

Into the cut up milk bottle goes:

100 scoops of poo

Into the washing machine goes:

1 scoop of powder

1 scoop of speed it up powder

1 scoop of conditioner!

Argh!!! Think you get my point, am I scooping too much?

I can add to that list a scoop of Dishwasher powder!

And don`t you always find that you inevitibly get something you scoop on your hands and when you go to eat your toast and marmalade you get a soapy garlicy aroma and taste :vom::lol:

I'm not making pellets, I'm using other feed in it's place. I was struggling to get the right balance that suited all of my flock. I have three meat boys free ranging with the rest of the flock. I've tried a number of supplements to help Valeries laying problems to no avail. So I wanted to try feed other than layers pellets and we're on our first week of something new. A combination of wheat, maize and rolled barley with a dollop of cod liver oil plus the usual bokashi bran. I'll give it a month or so and see how they do. The Brahma chicks think they've died and gone to heaven but the rest of the rabble have given a mixed response so far.

Another reason is that my dogs are fed on the BARF diet (bones and raw food) and I like to know exactly what has gone into them. I'm trying the same approach to the chooks feed to see if I get similar good results.
