jlo
....before letting DD try on a dress in Monsoon! She is only 12 but needs a dress for my BIL's wedding and a prom night thing at school. She would wear it at most three times before she gets bigger. She is a really sporty girl and doesn't really wear pretty clothes so this was a new venture anyway. She looked beautiful in the dress that you can see here http://www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/45029572 but when I saw the price tag I nearly fainted! I should have known better than to go into Monsoon in the first place I guess! I am hoping that the sale comes around soon!

Space Chick
It is a stunning dress, but very pricey for a growing girl!

jlo
they had similar dresses on ebay brand new (although not monsoon) very cheap last time I looked I have spent some time on ebay today! I haven't been too successful yet! The problem is that, although she is tall for her age and a size 8, she has no cleavage and it is amazing how many dresses require it! BeckyBoo
....unless you look at is as though you were spending £32 for a dress for each occasion? You could always sell it on after and claim some money back that way. Monsoon are so gorgeouls, not just the styles, it's the intense colours I love but I can never afford them either but if she hardly ever wears dresses, it might just be worth it.....? Sunshine
Do you have an outlet place near you? I got my leavers ball dress from Monsoon at Cheshire Oaks where it was much cheaper.

Chook n Boo Mum
Do you have a friend/relative/neighbour who can sew? Go out & find some fabric you love & a pattern & get it made up for you........ 'Tis lovely though!! Sha x
Seagazer
I agree with Beckyboo though if you make sure she gets lots of wear out of it then it takes the price down. I've been working with this theory since buying my Monsoon top for YS's 18th (£65). I've worn it to at least four other 'do's' now so think I'm getting my money's worth out of it. Beautiful looking dress the colours are lovely. I was in Monsoon in Oxford Street yesterday and have got my eye on a dress for another do I've got coming up. jlo
I think that this may be a compromise. £14.99 on ebay ps: The arm is my mum's!! She has just been adjusting the straps for me. yes - I know that I am 42 and should be able to do it myself but she likes to feel useful!!
