Lewis
Does anyone have the postcode for the pub so I can chuck it in the sat-nav? This popped up when I googled Horse and Groom, Banbury. The Horse and Groom Inn Milcombe Banbury Oxfordshire OX15 4RS T:+44 (0)1295 722
Griffin
Thank you, Dermot (my trusty sat-nav) can lead the way
Lesley
Has anyone heard from Claire (tidygirls) ? - she's down on the list to come to the pub but I haven't seen her around for a while. I PMd her this morning to check if she was still coming. I've also emailed Alison and invited her to join us - hope that was OK? Jude is joining us so it isn't just Omleteers anyway and I thought it would be nice if she could come.
The Dogmother
Good idea to ask Alison, Lesley. She has a long drive back though, so might decline. I've not seen Claire aorund.
Lesley
Good idea to ask Alison, Lesley. She has a long drive back though, so might decline. I've not seen Claire aorund. I didn't know whether Alison would be staying somewhere overnight as it is quite a drive back. She hasn't replied and I know my surname means that sometimes my emails go straight to Junk - would you ask if she received it when you see her? The Dogmother
I hadn't thought that she might be staying up here. I will check with her in the morning. There are bound to be more from the yard too there are always friends hanging around.

Lesley
I've still got my badge - I suppose I'd better wear it as I'm only going along to the pub Alison is coming but she's had to squeeze another course in at 4.30 so they will be a little late. The rest of us asked for 'early' so we're expected at the pub for 6pm and to eat shortly afterwards - please don't all stay to help at the end...............or I shall have to eat your food, starting with dessert Directions to the Horse and Groom, Milcombe. Turn Left out of Jude's yard. Follow the road for about 1 mile (from memory !) The road rises slightly and at the top of the rise there is a Left turn to Milcombe - warning! not signposted until you are right upon it!!! At the T junction, turn Left. As you come into the village the road forks and you will see the Horse and Groom on the Right but car parking is on the left hand fork. See you all there. Egluntyne
I hope you enjoy the course. Who will be the first to do a ' mostin'?
Griffin
I almost did it with my last cockerel and I immediately thought of her! The Dorking boys are nearly ready and I'm anxious not to repeat the performance, it was rather messy

mostin
I hope you enjoy the course. Who will be the first to do a ' mostin'? It was frighteningly easy to do , especially with the adrenaline pumping with it being the first time. I am dying to know who it will be . Griffin
I'm home! Somebody did a Mostin but it wasn't me I went first in my group and I found it very easy to do because it wasn't my chicken and it didn't have a name, it was a complete stranger. I have to say though that I'm never ever boning a chicken again What a fiddly kerfuffle that is It was lovely to finally meet some Omleteers
Lesley
Glad to see you got back home - it was nice to meet a few new people.
Snowy
I've just got home too! No Mostin for me either I've had a great day - I joined an earlier course as there was a space, so after that I hung around and helped pluck a few more and nattered with Laurmurf, Griffin, Compostwoman and anyone else that would listen! The pub meal was lovely! And I don't think I'll be boning in future - gutting only And no matter what she says, it was NOT me that talked Compostwoman into taking home 3 new chickens instead of the 2 she wanted
compostwoman
Got home at 9.45 roads were nice and clear on way back, but I was feeling very tired by the time I got in! 3 New girls ( thanks to Snowy and Claret.... ) settled into Eglu with the 4 other POL newbies, I will re arrange things tomorrow but they will all be OK for tonight...if a bit squashed..I will get up early tomoorw and check on them and let them all out into the big run.... agree with Griffin re the boning...my back is really aching and my hands are hurting, it was so fiddly... but YES, it was great to meet other omletteers, and I am just so sorry I had to dash off home..... Dh was surprising laid back about new girls, when I first said I had got some "hens" in the boot he said, "more than one, then? how many? 6?" which made me curse, as I could have got away with another three new girls on top of the three I DID get, by the sound of it.... next time I will remember that Lovely to meet you all......
