Updated to Pregnancy Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi, was wondering if anyone on here uses any of the countless pregnancy forums available and what you think of them?

I have been on a couple but dont find them as easy to use as this one but feel it would be unfair to bore everyone with too much baby talk on here

You can always pm me with your baby talk-I won't get bored, honest :D

I know how it feels-not that I am pregnant but when I was I just couldn't stop telling everyone how my baby was now the size of a grape, then a peach, then a grapefruit. lol

If you don't want to pm me, just start a pregnancy chat topic and if people find it boring-they don't have to read it

Thank you all for your kind replies... I do find myself talking about Zach all the time and he isn't even born yet, problem is only one of my friends has a child and she lives miles away now so there is only so much baby talk the rest of them can take

will pm you xScrunchee :D

Yeah I don't mind baby talk either :D Bogwoppit has his last day in the first baby room at nursery tomorrow then next week he starts in the older baby room.....my baby is growing up! He's such a little monkey at the moment but hilarious!

A friend of mine had a baby yesterday, a little boy. We're waiting for them to announce his name....

Try 'Natural Mamas' :D Its terrific for finding out lots of info about other options than the standard NHS/Midwife/HV stuff. Lots of support there and its really friendly. The forum is simple to use, and though it is connected to the Mama Natura shop, its not selling anything, you dont have to pay to use it and there are no annoying pop ups etc to get in the way of chatting.

You do have to register, but, its only a matter of sending your email to them :D

Lots of people there either want to keep chickens or have chickens (hatch) so you should fit right in. :D

if others would like to keep this thread going with me that would be great! As i was just saying to Jay, it is really good to hear stuff from real people as opposed to just from books. just no scary labour stories please  as I'm a wimp

I used to go on the Baby Centre one, but I don't think I commented. I used to read all the comments from people at the same stage as me, I found it quite reassuring if they were experiencing the same things as me. I signed up for the weekly emails too, telling you what size baby should be, what bits they'd grown etc. At least I did for my first, I don't think I bothered with my second (I wasn't working anymore so wouldn't have had time to read it  )

I went incredibly broody recently, but all the advice to pregnant women and Swine Flu that came out this week has worried me into having second thoughts. :(

i agree aunty e, we can't lock ourselves at home 24/7 also I googled swine flu and pregnancy and found forums where people who were pregnant said they had recovered from swine flu and were fine now. If anything I am more worried about the baby catching it after he is born

I have three children. My labours are very short and very intense :? But, I would do it all again without blinking an eye if I could have more children. (DH says three is enough-spoilsport meanie that he is  )

If you can find a birth hypnotherapist I would highly recomend it, I used one for my second pregnancy and I swear it was the BEST of the three, it was an incredible sensual experience and the hypnothearapy helped me to listen to my body and go with my natural instincts. Amazing and I wish that I'd dont it again with my third but thought that as it was my third I was an old hand at it  My one other suggestion would be to not be impatient for baby to arrive, and if baby doesnt make an appearance on time and they start talking induction then dont have one (Unless medically necessary). Baby will come, when Baby is done, an induction isnt an easy route to take. IMO.
