Louise
I was in america for work a few years ago and the chap I was with bought an elmo in a chicken suit for his grandson which sang the birdie song knowing the parents would hate it It was rather cool trying all the noisy toys in the toy shop to see which was the worse
theherd123
p.s I asked OH for a tickle Elmo, but he said that i'm too old for one You are NEVER too old for Elmo - buy your own if need be, but you will have to be quick as its supposed to be a big wanted toy for Christmas! Louise
Funniest thing was a dog toy that sung the 'who let the dogs out' song from 101 dalmations and some guy asked which one it was so I showed him he then tried to pusuade his son it was fun and the kid was having none of it he looked terrified
The Dogmother
When Rosie was born, my ex-MIL bought Rosie this enormous Gorilla that laughed and sung a song in a really deep voice. Every time Rosie saw it she screamed non-stop for half an hour. even I was scared of it It was bizarre.

Cate in NZ
Stop right there Kaz..... I'm exhausted just reading that list You are so thoughtful and organised with your gift giving you put me to shame Christmas , so far I've, ermmm, made a cake........ and bought some cards That's it No idea yet what I'm going to get for anyone, but I refuse to seriously contemplate Christmas until after son's birthday (he was 15 yesterday ), so today I'm meeting friends on Oxford Street for lunch and a natter and I'm hoping to make a start on it today. Help, now I need inspiration, for approx 20 family members and friends
theherd123
OMG Kaz please stop!!!!! Reading that list is not good for my health! Firstly you could open your own bar with all the alcohol you have made......in fact thinking about it you appear to have all the things needed for a great girly night in - cake, alcohol, pampering stuff etc Right party at your house tonight! Im getting there with the Christmas shopping and the last of it will be done tomorrow. Just had a call from mum & shes suggested getting a helicopter flight for my dad - he does not like flying or heights so it looks like we will e getting him that then! Still dont know what to do about the Paris trip - thought about a horse riding weekend as well but neither of us can ride!
Laura & CTB
thought about a horse riding weekend as well but neither of us can ride! CTB and I went on a horseriding holiday a few years back, neither of us had even sat on a horse before but it was really good, they taught us how to ride in a huge field they had next to the stables and then when we got a bit more confident we went riding into the countryside the following day. We had a great laugh and met some nice people and got to learn the mysteries of steering a horse! I would highly recommend it.
Guest
Kaz, where do you get a solar battery charger? What batteries does it charge?
kannie
Still dont know what to do about the Paris trip ... Paris is lovely: sounds great. Especially by eurostar! Problem with winter is that Paris can be bitterly cold. One trip we had there it was icy and windy, and when it gets dark at 4pm and you've only got a teeny hotel room it can be a bit dismal! I do get a bit claustrophobic in tiny spaces...
chelsea
why not somewhere else and not Paris.?....why not somewhere snowy?...like Geneva or Lapland...or Reckjavic?.(sorry cant spell it).Prague? ..I work for an airline so I like recommending different places. theherd123
If i book Paris we will fly, even though i hate flying, but the airport isnt far from where we live! Im going to look at the locations you have suggested Chelsea but not Lapland as we went to the arctic last year.

chelsea
we stayed in a 2 bedroomed cottage on the mainland near the Isle of skye. We drove up from Devon with the dog, stayed overnight near Glasgow on the way up, and then 2 weeks in the cottage. We found the cottage on the highlands of scotland tourist board website. There are so many to choose from!
