The problems with water pressure . . .

Recommended Posts

It seems that over the last year our water authority has turned up the pressure.

First the hosepipe burst. I thought it was because it was old and had perished so I replaced it. The new one split immediately and so has it's replacement!! The end keeps blowing off too which is so annoying. So I need a super strong hosepipe as cleaning out the cube without one is such a chore.

Then we had the hot water tank overflowing so that the walls of the house were saturated. The engineer said that it was down to fluctuations in water pressure. he reset things and it happened again and again. Meanwhile our new shower would only flow with cold water despite the water being piping hot. Again the fitter said the water pressure was too high.

The engineer returned and fitted a water pressure regulator to the water entering the house. He said that in our area he had fitted loads as the pressure had increased so much.

What next I wonder???

Would like your problem - round here they seem to keep dropping it, showering can be pathetic! Frustrating about your hose pipe though. Can you turn the water off slightly and reduce the pressure that way?

Same here - and we have to use hosepipe to get water to the animals and it takes ages!

Have you contacted your water authority?

Well I can't help at all with the water pressure, but I might be able to make your life a bit easier with Cube cleaning.

I'm a mountain biker for my sins, and the bike can get VERY mucky. However, to ride at many of the good biking venues around the country, I have to transport the bike by car, and a car park at the end of a muddy ride is not the best place to find a hosepipe for cleaning purposes....

Therefore, I adopted a suggestion of using one of these, and, when the last hosepipe ban came round, this provided me with a ready-made solution for cleaning the Cube. Given it doesn't use anywhere near as much water as a hosepipe, it also appeals to my environmental conscience, so I've continued using it in preference to a hosepipe even since the ban has been lifted.

What a good idea! 8)
