I only eat them once a year as it would be rude to refuse them and they're ok if covered with gravy and eaten with a bit of bread sauce. Just realised - I may have to eat them TWICE this year! emily95 Posted August 26, 2009 Share Posted August 26, 2009 There was an item on the national news yesterday saying that Rochdale Council have put their Christmas lights up Ditto! Absolutely ridiculous, I dont wanna think about christmas until December, November earliest! Ahem. I was very embarassed when I saw that. Becuase I was on holiday I hadn't seen them going up and I thought it was just a joke! When we got back last night there they were up in our town. They're still the really tacky ones, only a few actually work and most are missing bits. I wonder whether they will turn on the lights for Eid. They said the lights were up for other religious festivals such as Eid and Divalli although the lights are all related to christmas. Rochdale Council really are a crazy bunch! And so far they've only managed to put the lights up in Milnrow. They probably won't manage to get them all up until January anyway. Same here I love the build up to Christmas too, but agree about the constant stream of advertising I do try and stick to making hampers etc as gifts as "Ooops, word censored!"ody actually needs anything.
