Guest
I'll have to add my name to the list of wise women in the Midlands, never been to Touchwood or even the Merry Hell Centre I am not a very keen shopper, but have friends who spend their weekends doing it and can give you the run down of almost every shopping centre within about a 100 miles of them
The Dogmother
But I'm not one of them Debs
Charlottechicken
I'll have to add my name to the list of wise women in the Midlands, never been to Touchwood or even the Merry Hell Centre I am not a very keen shopper, but have friends who spend their weekends doing it and can give you the run down of almost every shopping centre within about a 100 miles of them I have to confess, Debs, I went to the Merry Hell Centre twice in the early 90's. Horrid place, a cathedral for the worship of consumerism The bus ride over there was the most interesting part. A bus ride in the Black Country is like a white knuckle roller coaster ride I like all the little places that are being put out of business by the shopping centres, like Cradley and even Halesowen, and those wierd little shops where you find interesting things. Local charity shops are always brilliant. And don't even start me on the Bullring, what a mess! I just walk past the bull and straight down to the markets, where the interesting stuff is! Guest
I don't blame you Claire Don't go to Brum that much, Harry and Jules had their pictures taken by the bull when we went a few months ago. It was a nice quiet sunday morning and we were going on the Shakespeare Express
Guest
I bet a bus ride to the Merry Hell Centre is an experience, up and down all those hills
Charlottechicken
I bet a bus ride to the Merry Hell Centre is an experience, up and down all those hills Much cheaper than going to Alton Towers, but twice as frightening For extra effect, always go upstairs and sit at the front The drivers really know how to throw those buses around! They should call it the Scary Hill Centre
ubereglu
Does anyone know what I could get for my Dad-both for Christmas and his birthday? He likes trains and after eights, but I don't really want to buy him after eights-as I don't like them.

chelsea
There is a new shop in Peterborough, Kate. We used to have one in Birmingham, but it was very small, I think it was only on a six month lease. The shops all seem to be concentrated in the south now. They've got a really nice old fashioned looking alarm clock in the catalogue, called a wacky waker, which says 'cock a doodle do' instead of ringing, only £7.99 too! I like the look of the ginger beer kit and there's a micro brewery too! And the snoozing lamb looks lovely! I ordered the cockrel clock for my husband it came today. It "doodle doo's" constantly until you turn off the alarm not only do we have our own chickens, he works with them all day too....so hearing this when he wakes up is most amusing well,,....to me anyway

One Man Banned
I bet a bus ride to the Merry Hell Centre is an experience, up and down all those hills There are other ways to get the Merry Hell centre - doesn't the canal run next to it - it's a grim stretch of water, well it was the last time that I was there, and this was in the 90's too, when two lovely local children (no more than 11 or so) were out to nick stuff from the boats (cameras and camcorders are a particular favourite). One chats to you all very nicely while the other is trying the doors at the front 60ft away - didn't bargain on our two dogs saying hello though!!
