jlo
My friend's fifteen year old son has had to go into hospital for an operation. He is coming home tomorrow but will be pretty weak and in quite a lot of pain. I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas of what I might be able to take to him to try and brighten his day a little. The only thing that occurred to me was itune vouchers so that he could maybe download some music or stuff but it is pretty uninspiring! I am sure that there are brighter ideas than that... Geoid
Some lego! When I was in hospital recovering after a major op, I played with lego, great to pass the time etc.
Lewis
DVD's are good because you can just sit and watch them and not have to do anything , a magazine, a book about something/someone he likes would also be good.
jlo
He is into rock music but won't be doing any of for a while (It does go on for quite a while but is pretty impressive IMHO!) Strangely enough, I can see him with Lego!

Snowy
Maybe a good time to get him interested in crosswords? Kids don't seem to do them these days, but I used to love them as a teenager - especially a good general knowledge one (not cryptic!) and a Junior Pears Encyclopedia. I learnt loads of useless information that way!
Jules.
Oh, Snowy, Junior Pears, that book was I used to devour it I can't think of any other suggestions, apart from you getting him a voucher for a local musical instrument shop for when he gets better, so he can treat himself to something? Karen & co.
Not sure if he would be interested in the Guiness book of records? My ES has one every year as pat of his Christmas present, and reads through reading out loud all the rather odd records he finds Hope he is on the mend Karen x
Happy-Mama
depends on what he is into but I would go for lego too, provided he is well enough to do the building. you also get robot lego so he can build a robot and operate it by remote control very
