A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I am in love. Lookey: http://www.twistcollective.com/collection/index.php/component/content/article/60-winter-2008-patterns/147-sylvi-by-mari-muinonen But I can't knit. Does anyone know of any knitting services where I could get this knocked up affordably? Isn't it Red Riding Hood GORGEOUS?
Tessa the Duchess
Absolutely gorgeous Shame my mum isn't alive she was a fabulous knitter and loved doing complicated patterns like that. Tessa

craftyhunnypie
I can knit - but it would probably be out of fashion by the time I ever finished that. Plus I would probably knit it in rainbow stripes!!! Emma.x
AJuff
A friend of mine custom knits. She's a superb knitter and crotcheter too. i am always amazed by her beautiful creations too. She's on holiday in France at the moment but I'm sure she'd give you a quote when she gets back. I'll pm you.
iar fach goch
That is soooo gorgeous, will have to be nice to my mil me thinks. I never ask her to make stuff normally as she gets bored and deviates from the pattern, hopefully this should be different enough to keep her happy! Fizzle Knit
I'd love one of those too, it's gorgeous!
ubereglu
Looks great-and not too complicated! I would offer to knit it for you, as it should grow quite quickly due to the needle size it's knitted on. I couldn't do it affordably though, otherwise I'd be paid slave labour rates of about £1 an hour.
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Wow Liz - drawing, recycled chicken garden thingies and now knitting! Is there any end to your craftiness? Post some more of your knitting goodness! (I may have found a knitter...)
ubereglu
Wow Liz - drawing, recycled chicken garden thingies and now knitting! Is there any end to your craftiness? Post some more of your knitting goodness! (I may have found a knitter...) Hee, hee. Multi-skilled! I've knitted for the past few years-I'm just a bit more confident now. Hope you have found your knitter, it looks like a wonderful garment!
iar fach goch
Yipee -MIL has agreed to knit this for me, though she doesn't guarantee it'll be ready for Christmas. Now the dilemma is what colour, do I go for the lovely little red riding effect pictured, or would I get more wear out of another colour....a nice green perhaps..... or chocolate brown. What do you think?
ubereglu
Well, what colour do you wear most of? You could either go for a similar shade to lots of your clothes or contrast?
theherd123
Go for the red - it looks fantastic and as you will most likely wear it on colder days it will always make you feel bright and smiley! If you change your mind about it once its knitted I will happily give it a good home!
craftyhunnypie
I'd have red or a bright limey green. I like brights in Winter - nothing more dreary than a line of dark washing in the Winter months - greys, blacks, browns. Ugh! Go red! It will go with most stuff surely? Omletina Kyckling
Did anybody ever get this lovely wooly knitted? If so what would did they use or did they find a stockist for Briggs and Little in this country? I'm not a knitter but was thinking of asking somebody to knit this for me!! It looks just the ticket for me when I'm up in the Pennines!!
