Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 8

Recommended Posts

Thanks Lewis - I guessed as much. :D Glad your lesson went well. We have just collected a lamb for the freezer - all butchered for us. Looks good, so a fair amount gone into the freezer already, saving some chops for tomorrow and the kidneys (with some extra added) for dinner tonight. The boy is destined for the freezer too.

Scramble, when all but one phone can be found, I test the intercom - drives DS insane mainly because he has them all in his room. If he put them back where he found them they wouldn't bother him, hah!

Debs, Tipsy and Squirt have had a squabble, but all quiet now again - your breakfast certainly sounds colourful.

DD safely dropped off with her London friend at the venue, so we'll be off to pick them up later and drop her widdle friend off at the station in Petersfield. I did offer the spare room, but as it finishes early he was able to get back home tonight. Now there is a true fan of The Blackout - DD says it is almost embarrassing because he has to collect all the souvenirs he can! Bless. :D

I intercom Phil all the time, its far more civilised than shouting, but it drives him nuts so I do it even more!

Romana escaped in to next door garden (my fault, I accidentally scared her, she managed to fly up onto the wall and then into the garden) but I don't think she'll ever try it again as it really freaked her out, and she started letting out a really frightened bok. I rescued her and returned her to her sisters

Poor Romana - Bach's remedy - the calming cuppa for hens! :D

The boy isn't in the freezer - he's roasting at this very minute! Weighed in oven-ready at 4lb 1oz. I think plucking was the worst bit, so hard not to tear the skin - in such a rush before DD got up and nerves I suppose. Never mind all behind me now. I'll let you know what he tasted like later.

OH "watching" football upstairs - roughly translated means he's going off for a nap. He has had a fair few late nights with work lately, so hopefully he can catch up.

With regard to DS, the latest news was that they got their flight OK to California in the end - already mentioned - but their hotel said that their room wasn't ready. So in other words they let the room out after OH's cousin rang to let the hotel know that the boys were still coming, but missed the connection and would be there the following day. So they have been ferried to a sister hotel somewhere else in San Francisco, so what it is like we don't yet know. They thought the hotel that they stopped over in was fabulous, so well worth it in the end. And as far as the concert goes - they are 37 miles away. Now if that had been me, I would have picked an hotel a leeeeeeetle bit nearer. Apparently they will be visiting Alcatraz too. You know I want to say something but I can't . . . I mustn't . . . oooooh . . . :silenced:

The people at the hotel said that the boys would be staying at the other one "for free" - er, they have already paid for their holiday, so OH's cousin is going to speak to the travel agents because it was done over there to sort this out and hopefully some compensation for the inconvenience - not to mention all the calls they have made. Sorry it sounds like a rant, sort of thinking aloud.

Anyhow . . . . .OLAY CLOOTIE GONZALES

Alcatraz is fabulous :D

I love San Francisco, and can't wait to go back. The cable cars are sooo much fun, if they can go to a Baseball game I'd recommend it. "Lets go Giants" (thats the San Francisco Giants chant :D )

Well I have my Jalapeños peppers at the ready, Guacamole is made, where are you all

I may get some bach rescue remedy then :D

Its rather hot in South Wales, so I bought the girls some nice frozen corn on the cob as a treat but also to cool them down. All 10 of them are afraid of them :wall:

Mine love sweetcorn. I've jsut given the chicks some for the first time and have a video I'll upload and post later :D

I'd think mash would slop out of the treadle feeder and kind of clog it, but theres only one way to find out

I don't see why not - the only things I found eating from the treadle feeder were slugs - huge things - yuk. Yet again when someone treads on it we have a mass panic, nastly loud clangy thing out to get them. I threw out a slice of apple the other day - well, you couldn't see them for dust. The blackbird tucked in though.

I think I would try with just a little first - then splash a hose around the area, then you will see if it gets damp in there - I found when using the jet on a normal hose (unpowered) to clean the path, the water splashed up and dribbled into the feeding tray part - hopefully rain won't do the same thing. Ours still has pure layers pellets, so I haven't encouraged them to use it yet as the youngsters are still on growers. They are getting a tiny mix now as I'm changing them gradually.

"Lets go Giants"

Ooooh sacrilege - we're Blue Jays supporters here! But when in Rome - and a baseball game is a baseball game wherever - I love it.

I can't remember who, but someone on here has a collection of mashes and pellets to suit her girls. Now who owns who? I know that feeling - turn their noses up at this, won't touch that. Well you wiiiiillll get it until it's used up and then you can have the other one - then back to the one they supposedly like and I get - we don't like that. Just like Little Britain!
