Judging a book by its cover

Recommended Posts

So, I was in Tesco, & it was a toss up between 2 books.

THIS ONE ended up in my trolley, purely because it has a chicken on the cover :lol::lol::lol:

I have just finished it,& happily it was very good indeed, about a woman whose husband steamrollers her into a move to the country,& the adjustments she has to make to her life.

Lots of chickens in it!!!

An Omlet Library!!! :D I read a good book, called "Things I want my Daughters to know" about a woman dying of cancer and the letters she wrote her daughters for them to read after she was gone. It's chicklit but a good bedside, non-braintaxing read. Happy to pass that on if anyone wants as well... (but there are no chickens either on the cover OR inside :( )

Oh I read that. Made me cry so much!

I read a book recently called Hens Dancing by Raffaella Barker. I only bought that one because of the title and that hens were on the cover and mentioned in the blurb.

Would love to join the "book club" too but probably not easy because of the cost of sending the book(s) to France. I would, however, be very happy to forward postal cost, but maybe that would be a bit complicated. I could suggest sending to my son in the UK but, love him very much as I do, I think the book would still be on his to do list in 5 years time!

If you liked that, may I recommend 'The household guide to dying' by Debra Adelaide?

It is a fantastic book, one that I have spoke about here before (in fact Claret took my copy on her hols!),.

The humor is darkest black, as a woman loses her battle with cancer. Its is just beautifully written, not at all morbid AND THERE ARE CHICKENS IN IT TOO!!!

Really, buy it now................

I was thinking about this thread the other day, but couldn't remember what it was called. I spotted the book in the library the other week, so I've now read it. So can you take me back off the list again?

I really enjoyed it, and it made me cry a few times, which is always a sign of a good book :D
