I had that a very long time ago - I kept trying to talk and eventually it went completely and it was so hard to breathe too - which wasn't very nice. The doc put me on antibiotics and I wasn't allowed to speak for a week (as if that would happen  ). Other than that I actually felt fine, which was even more annoying because I wanted to do something but mum wouldn't let me. Her normal reaction to a cold when I was little was bed for a week - I think she was a little bit over protective. I don't remember having a cold before I went down with it, nor did I get a temperature. :? I usually get laryngitis when I get a bad cold - but then my voice tends to deepen (which I rather like actually - at least I don't sound like my mum so much then).

Hope it all gets better soon. Oh well, silence is golden as they say!
