We changed our ancient TVs to freeview ones last year so today we have to re-tune them

 

Don't they know that lunchtime is for Neighbours?? - not fiddling about with something that probably won't be as easy as they imply

 

.....and I'll have to re-tune the Humax box and that will lose all the recording settings - that's the same as losing all the Planner series links on a Sky+ box

 

I'm so looking forward to lunchtime today........

It's a pest isn't it. We're on Sky (about to junk it though and watch the free-to-view) but I've been helping a few of the elderly neighbours with the digital retune.

We've only just got Freeview here

We were given a freeview box a couple of years ago, as Rosie is the only one to use it, I've designated her as the official re-tuner!

DH was mumbling about it last night "probably lose a load more channels too " not that we watch that many......but DS will be mortified if Dave disappears...where will he get his Top Gear fix

Oh my gosh - same here! My folks only bought their new one two weeks ago and it was all set up for them.

I just can't be bothered with sumfink I never watch - I catch my 1 hour a week on iplayer while I iron. That's why Rosie does it.. if she wants to watch it, she needs to sort it!

That's what I feel.

Hubby's always watching Grand Designs and location/relocation blah blah so I do catch-up on the big computer.

You'd be amazed how many Sky channels show this sort of stuff.

we've got Sky but we don't pay anything anymore, we just have the free channels. We hardly watch any TV, the kids mostly watch CBeebies, we use iPlayer is there was something specific we wanted to watch. My dad was muttering something about retuning. My grampy is having problems with his, he wants to get the Welsh BBC channels, but keeps getting the West, so no doubt hubby will be getting a call to help him sort it out, although gramps was thinking about paying the £40 and having someone come out and sort it all for him.

Well we managed to retune our TV & DVD recorder at 11.10am today. they must have been ready ahead of time & gave noon as a safe time. No problems with it.

What a pain for you. I thought I was going to have problems with the recordings I had got set on mine after reading your first post but it was fine and recorded as it should last night.

 

I wonder if yours needs a software upgrade or if it's an slightly older model
