Moped Insurance and Well Done to my OH

Recommended Posts

Hubby has just passed his moped basic training at the ripe age of 38 and after nearly a year of me driving him to work at half past the crack of dawn

We are off to buy a moped at the weekend :D

Does anyone know if you get insurance for moped from the main insurance companies or if its better to use a motorcycle specialist company? I have phoned a couple of the big insurers but without bike details they wont quote or even confirm if they insure mopeds

Hubby very excited by it all - its a very big deal, I never thought I would see the day, for some reason he just cannot 'get' driving and has never passed his driving test so to get him out on the road is a major acheivement and will mean more freedom for him and mean that I am not tied to his shift patterns

Well Done Mr Redwing :clap: I used to have a moped years ago when you didn't need special training to have one you just needed a provisional license and i got my insurance through the motorcycle shop I think. :)

Great tip about the aterproof I had a set and really didn't care what i looked like in them. they were for keeping me dry not to look good

Top box on back was a must for me and spend a bit more on his helmet to get a good quality one ;) Make sure it fits correctly etc.

Once again well done.

Well done Mr Redwing!

I know we can`t quote on vehicle insurance without specific car details....but don`t think we do mopeds at all. Not my department but I have sent an email whizzing off.
