Goff
We have been to collect our new (and first ever) chooks today. They seem to have settled in very well so far! They are Gingernut Rangers and we have named them Elvira, Mina and Lilith Our English Bull Terrier Dolcie isnt too sure though, she was quaking when they first arrive, but is getting used to them now. Here's some pics: Youan just see Dolcie having a good nosey at the back! Edited October 4, 2009 by Guest

Goff
Oh they are sooo cute, they already look at home. And, your little hen house is the same as mine; Except, sad person that I am, i painted it! That looks lovely! Just a quick question too. One of the hens is pecking at anothers tail feathers. She hasn't pulled any out yet, and the other hen doesn't seem bothered by it, but she's been doing it ever since we got them home. Is this just something they do to establish a pecking order? chick wiggle
They could be establishing the pecking order, keep an eye on it and if it continues try squirting the offender with a water pistol or plant sprayer on jet setting every time she pecks. It should stop her in her tracks!

It should stop her in her tracks! Thanks! Ill give it a try if she is still doing it. She doesn't seem to be hurting the other one, but ill keep an eye on it just in case
