A chickychickychick-ENN!!
For the last day of our honeymoon, we went to Le Touquet in France. Le Touquet used to be known as a destination of sophistication. A Northern Riviera, if you will. To us it resembled a cross between Torquay, Knightsbridge and Gillingham/Chatham High Street. With added neon. And lots of shut things. And rubbish weather. And £14 cheese on toast which they called 'Le Welsh' but they didn't fool us! So - how did we really feel about Le Touquet? Pick from the photos below: Angry sad... Horrified... Sorrowful but resigned... Exhilarated and delighted... Close and intellectual... Nonplussed (note binbags). Fur 'n' Feathers
How about those face photos as additions to the forum "smileys". They are so expressive! From your report we won't be hurrying there - despite Lydd airport not being far and (we believe) flights go there from it.

redhotchick
I wanted to vote for the chicken pictures but I went with "angry and sad" £14 for cheese on toast would make me angry! Rain I don't mind, but Neon would make me sad
Seagazer
Oh no, I've never been there but OH has, years ago, and he keeps saying he's going to take me there for lunch one day. Is it not worth the bother now?
chickenNutter
Nonplussed - I think it was the binbags.

Is it not worth the bother now? Not unless you really really like overpriced cheese on toast or closed minigolf!

A chickychickychick-ENN!!
And the results were: HORRIFIED! Then sad but resigned. Then non-plussed (note the binbags). We tried close and intellectual to feel more French, but OH's approach to French consists of saying: 'Le sange est dans le piscine. Ou-est le fromage? Dans le piscine avec le sange'. So that didn't work too well. It's just not Truffaut. Exhilarated and delighted was purely for the benefit of some people walking by after they'd seen us do angry/sad in case they hit us for disparaging their town in a close and intellectual way. Do you think we can get the expressions added as emoticons?!
