Chook n Boo Mum
Oh my goodness........I stayed up especially to open my gift box the right side of midnight...............and got hooked into "blog surfing" & have only just opened it, but it was certainly worth the (not very long really ) wait I have the most lovely red beaded on silver chain bracelet on top of all the wrapping & packaging, in a red voile (?) bag - gorgeous ........next came a layer of tissue and loads of bubble wrap...the first "bundle" yielded a bottle of homemade elderberry cordial, can't wait to try that tomorrow .............then a jar of sweetcorn relish, however did the sweetcorn get into the pan & jars without the chooks getting it, I am impressed at your control ................next a jar of damson jam, definitely in my top 3 favourite jams ..............and...yes still more ......a teatowel hand decorated with autumnal leaves, far too good for use in the kitchen which was wrapped around a glass bud vase etched with another leaf............I am utterly gobsmacked at my gift and my givers generosity.............thank you thank you and again thank you Once I am awake again I will post photos....DH will no doubt get awoken to share in my good news Nighty night..........and thank you Ana for organising this swap, I hope all's well with you Sha x

Ana's flock
Thanks everyone for making and sending the lovely gifts - and for the photos - I love seeing what everyone's made. Sorry I haven't been around much but my life has suddenly taking one of those turns and from having a fairly relaxed work/life balance has moved on to uberhectic! I'm still enjoying my job at a well known international educational institution and it has become a full-time position (until April next year anyway) - which is great. I'm still learning Chinese and now also Italian (which I love). Plus I'm teaching Spanish 3 evenings a week and also on Saturdays. I'm also illustrating (which is my life vocation - my first qualification and something I've done since I could hold a pencil) although someone from another department is causing me a bit of 'agro' - I don't know who this is though, just someone kicking up a fuss and making lots of trouble so that my name has been taken of their 'OFFICIAL LIST OF FREELANCERS' - but I think I'll keep doing it as the authors (ultimate decision makers, I think) are happy with my work, so conversations to be had... (Please keep your fingers crossed for me). I'm also going to launch an illustration website - will put it in my signature once it's sorted. So I'm pretty busy at the moment - I've stolen a few minutes to visit this forum - I really miss you lovely chicken people - and now I've got two little vampires who want their hair 'glued back' and their faces 'whitened'. One of them is a vegetarian and is going to have green around his lips, from the last cucumber whose blood he sucked... Have a great Samhain/Halloween everyone - and I'll be back - even if it's only for quick peeks. Love to you all. Ana
Plum
Wow Ana you are so hectic but thanks for the update its interesting to hear what you have been doing and wish you well with the illustrating. Give them hell, your reputation passed on by word of mouth from the authors should serve you well. Good luck with the website.
