Emily and Nick
How should I give my chickens grit? I've had it in a shallow dish but they just keep knocking it over? What does everyone do? Thanks Emily
Dappy Chick
I put mine in small feeders (chick size) and dot them around
JamesAyres
I do it very similarly to you and they do often knock it over. I still try to put it in the pot , but its on a large tray , so any grit is collected. I also tend to add a handful to the main food too. docsquid
Following some advice on this forum, I am putting mine in a small grit feeder so they can get it whenever they need it, but I also put some on the floor as they seem to like picking for it. abwsco
If you're near an Ikea they have/had some great plastic pots in their kitchen section that were 48p and are fab for grit. They're designed for hanging on the kitchen rails. Plus I was able to get a pink one

Fur 'n' Feathers
Just found this post rather than posting another. We've finally solved our grit bowl problem by using a plastic bird nest... the type used for canaries. It looks like a little colander and screws through the weldmesh. If it rains the cup has drainage slits. We've fixed one beside each of our grubs. Only cost £1.39! We got a butterfly nut to fix it and made 2 large circular plastic washers to hold it to the weldmesh by using the plastic from a finished ACV carton.
