FosPet
Hi All, I have finally, after months upon months of debating joined the 'Good Life' Chicken keeping community. I think what helped was all the really positive and proactive people on these forums, who are so happy to share knowledge and experience without being all stuck up and judgemental. A big plus for Chicken keppers me thinks and most of the questions that I have had, have already been answered. Anyway, I went for the Eglu Go, in red, and I am very pleased with it. It took ages to choose between the Classic and Go, and in the end the more practcle 'Go' won, although the Classic still looks good. The man delived and installed the 'Go' this morning, dead on 8 o'clock, and did a really great job too. The two girls, a ranger and pepperpot, look to be in good health, and are already very inquisitive, so hopefully they like their new home. Its really frustrating though, having to keep them in for 5 days, as I can't wait for them to be able to explore the garden. I have gone on long enough for my first day, but I will try and post regular newbie updates. Dean. - Gertie - Maisy
Patricia W
Welcome! You're in for lots of fun - and be careful, it's a slippery slope from 2 to 4 to 8 to .... It will be interesting to hear how you get on with the Go because it's so new and we don't have much experience of it -so you're a pioneer! Plum
Congratulations, I don't think we have had pictures of member chooks in the new go yet. Omlet hens are lovely mine didn't take long to make friends with me when I first had them.

FosPet
Here are the first view photo's from this morning, before it started to rain!! Just uploaded them using photobucket, dead easy to do. I took inspiration from another chicken owners Eglu Classic that I saw on here and added the 'roofing'. Might seem OTT, although it has proved a success today, as the girls were out in their run during the rain, so I guess it was worth it. I have not added their dust bath yet, as I am still looking for something that is not to big,yet big enough!! On another note, I have noticed that the girls do not seem to like the Omlet branded feed that they dropped off, and much preferred the Organic Feed layers pellets that I also brought from the local Scats store. Again I know its early days so I guess time will tell. I am still very much in the worried new parent mode, I didn't panic this much when my daughter was born..lol Thanks for the welcome notes, much appreciated. Dean. docsquid
Lovely pictures, and lovely set-up! I still haven't built my Cube a permanent base yet and I've had it two weeks! On another note, I have noticed that the girls do not seem to like the Omlet branded feed that they dropped off, and much preferred the Organic Feed layers pellets that I also brought from the local Scats store. Again I know its early days so I guess time will tell. Dean. No, mine didn't like it either. They like the Organic Feed Company stuff much better. Actually they seem to be a bit like the cats - OK with it as long as you keep changing it!
