Chick-a-doodle-doo
hi, My light sussex led the escape.. I can't beleive how naughty they were. Running off, the pair of them. So I let my other 3 out so they could have a go.. They loved it and were very well behaved. Then I chased the other two and put them back.. They do have a large wir so I have been waiting for them to settle and for the right time to let them out.. seems like they thought the right time was today. STill no eggs of any of them. docsquid
Our first FR experience was unscheduled too! Now they queue up in the morning to be let out. I try and leave them in for a bit so they eat some of their proper food, but they prefer to be out in the garden whenever possible! I have pretty much trained them to come when called. I put some corn in my hand and then put my hand inside the run. They are so busy eating the corn that when I drop the remainder on the floor and close the run they don't even notice I've closed the door! I'm hoping that they don't suss this trick out, or I will be reverting to trying to catch them!
Space Chick
I just shake a tupperware of corn or mealworms and they all coming running, and will willingly head inside the run. Its an incredible sight to behold as they all coming running from various sections of the garden
