Space Chick
My next door neighbours set off a load of fireworks last night and their garden is next to my WIR, my girls didn't bat an eyelid
coco
We've had fireworks going off the last two nights and the girls have been fine. I think once they are tucked up for the night not much bothers them.
Gelbel
I was over protective on 5th and brought them in. If anything there were more going off last night and I left them out. It's all happening again this evening and they can stay out there - I know they will be fine. TBH it was all the smoke from the bonfires that was of more concern on 5th - it was very smokey out there. Doubt if I will bother on NYE unless the people over the back have a party - they let off more than the Sydney Harbour Bridge - and that would only be yards away from the girls. chick wiggle
It was my first bonfire night and i was worrying with every little bang! I went down to check on them and was greeted with some most disgruntled, sleepy eyes. it was me who bothered them, not the fireworks! So try not to worry too much , they're tough little ladies
sjp
I think mine were more put out by me checking up on them than the fireworks
chickenopolis
Thank you all for your wise advice and of course, you were right.. At the first start of all the banging last night I raced up to the girls, opened the egg port and was greeted by 2 ladies with very sleepy eyes and the look on their face as if to say "stop shining that torch at me, I am trying to sleep". So I left well along, and at first light went down to let the ladies out - they were the same as they are every morning. Busy, busy, busy...... eating breakfast! That's another experience ticked off the list.. Sarah x
Emz24
HI In a book I read it suggested bringing your chickens inside for the night on fireworks night and keeping them in a box with ventilation holes. Then simply letting them back outside in the morning. However Im not sure what I will do because mine havent arrived yet! Emz24
Barkisland
Lots of fireworks here over the past few nights, but my girls have been completely unaffected by them
helen1962
Hi All My 3 girls were not fazed by fireworks in the least. They have been going off all around and they didn't do so much as look up. Pretty bomb proof I think
