Lesley
I get ours from http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk My word they are expensive - only 77p in Tesco!! Yes, but Tesco are probably squeezing the producer until the pips squeak......and then will produce their own version, leaving the producer with a massive hole in their sales - I'll stick with Goodness Direct. Blackrocksrock
I get ours from http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk My word they are expensive - only 77p in Tesco!! I understand where you are going and coming from but at £1.39 I cannot justify the expense of buying from a shop like that. We have a deli locally and its also very expensive but all the things in that particular deli shop are expensive compared to any of the supermarkets. I do frequent Mr T I am afraid and I will add I like Mr T's - I do think Mr Asda is just as bad or worse as they are american wallmart now and huge even bigger than Tesco. I also buy in our local coop and would buy more from them if the fruit and veg were any good but they are not so have no choice but to do an asda, lidl, aldi or tesco in elgin which is 18 miles from home. In so saying the nescafe in co-op for 200g has been £2.80 for 1 week - so great value and I buy their wine too!.

Charlottechicken
I saw these in the Tesco near my office today. They sell three different types and the veggy ones were 70p. I can't buy any to try yet as I usually buy the Value ones for risotto (they are not bad for 28p not too salty) so have two packs of those to get through and a bottle of OXO concentrated stock I got in Poundland. Guest
I don't know how much I pay for my kallo cubes to be honest but I use 2 beef ones for a huge pot of scouse for example, which provides 3 meals. I think you get 6 cubes in a box? So, if I pay £1 for a box for example then that's only about 11p per meal isn't it? How can you complain about that! Same goes when i use the chicken ones too, 2 cubes make about 3 meals (4 if you pad them out with side dishes of potato, cabbage etc). One of my favourites is; fry up 6 outdoor reared sausages then add a large onion and fry til soft then cover with boiling water and add 2 chicken stock cubes and simmer for 30 mins or so and then thicken with some gravy granules and serve with mashed potato and cabbage. There's usually a fair bit of onion gravy left over too which i freeze for other meals. I agree about the flavour of kallo cubes, they make meals much tastier too speaking of gravy granules, anyone know where to get free range ones? I've not seen any so far
