My eco solution to rat problems

Hoping to get ducks in the spring and am obviously going to house them in an eglu Am torn between red and blue - but i'm sure i read somewhere that red was quite prone to fading? Can anyone confirm or deny???!!!!

Of the various ones I've seen advertised for sale, the red ones all seem to have faded. The blue ones look OK, but maybe they are newer?

 

What about pink to go with your purple one?

I have had my red Eglu since April 2005 and it is still red

 

The eglu is in a covered run, the roof is clear corrugated plastic and I do live in the north of scotland where the sun doesn't always shine as much as I would like

Yes Snowy, purple and pink do look nice together but i'm not really a pink kind of girl. My aunty Julie keeps chickens down in somerset and is quite tempted by a pink eglu though.

Hummmm. Maybe green. I'm not totally convinced though. I would have loved a yellow one!!! I like the orange - i just think orange and purple in the garden might be a bit to bright first thing in the morning!!!

I was going to get a blue one after seeing Ginette's eglu, it's a lovely colour blue.

We've had our blue eglu since Feb last year & think its fab. If you are going to be visiting your granny & would like to come & see it you'd be really welcome as I live near her.

I think i probably will go for Blue. You're right Ginette and Martin i think Blue would be nice for ducks. Thankyou Morag for the kind offer i might just take you up on that if i go up to romford before i get the ducks in the spring.

 

I have mentioned this before i know but when you go to buy a blue eglu in the omlet shop if you type in a postcode after choosing the eglu it goes to step 4 out of 5 and the eglu shown is a HORRIBLE blue not at all like the blue i thought it was... I doubt it will let me post the link but has anyone else seen this pic of the eglu??

It does look a bit murky, doesn't it? Lesley's isn't like that at all, and I've seen it in the flesh: Its a lovely bright blue....

I suspect its just a bad picture...

The picture of the purple eglu on the sight looks nothing like the real thing either. The blue is 100% nicer and so is the purple!

Annie, check out the 'ducks again' thread - Lesleys blue eglu is pictured there and i think it looks quite a murky blue in that photo rather the the bright blue i've seen in other pics? What do you think?

It might come to that Bronze as i don't think the OH will be persuaded by one of each - blue and red!!!!
