Chook n Boo Mum
I took my gorgeous boy up to Golden Valley Poultry today and he is now living with a group of Light Sussex obsessed Guinea Fowl and two geese who disappeared in the opposite direction as soon as they saw him land in their pen ....he'll wonder what has hit him when about 400 hens arrive next week Hopefully the Colonel (resident cockerel) will accept him as a junior in the ranks, despite YL being huge in comparison The lovely young lad I spoke to said that they'd also had an enquiry about Light Sussex cockerels, so he may have another home soon, but at least he's free to be a noisy boy wherever he spends the rest of his days Bye bye my gorgeous boy, the garden is so very quiet without you (photobucket is slowly uploading photos, I'll post them when it's finished ) Sha x

Chook n Boo Mum
Here he is looking very bedraggled in our garden ....and in his new home, looking really quite small Yes Plum, it's been quite a difficult week chookwise as I've said goodbye to both the remaining Bufflings, but I know it's for the best in both cases............YL would have become a problem with his "singing"...though the neighbours didn't mention any excessive noise when I saw them this evening, even though their tongues had been loosened with firewater ..........and Pansy has a "one on one" life to lead which is much easier for her than trying to join with the huge gang of louts in the WIR. Hopefully Berry will have a new home soon too, as will the Black Rocks I'm "babysitting" for a friend until she's back after New Year, so our garden will be back to "sensible" chook levels for a while at least Sha x

Valkyrie
I love a happy ending. though the neighbours didn't mention any excessive noise when I saw them this evening, even though their tongues had been loosened with firewater Perhaps that helped them forget? Chook n Boo Mum
We woke up this morning to Berry creating his very own dawn chorus with a few of the big girls joining in as backing singers I think YL was masking Berry's efforts, which are now taking centre stage Here's Berry in a slide show, doing his utmost to avoid the camera....... Hasn't he grown up in the past month Sha x
dippy bird
Awww he's absolutely gorgeous - he would match my Betty perfectly I have to say, I would love a cockerel, and I'm sure he would be no louder than a) next doors dog that never shuts up barking b) other neighbours kids that never shut up crying and wake me up daily at 5.30 screaming!!! Maybe I should get one as payback!!
