Calling all wii fitty islanders

Recommended Posts

I only dabble with the Wii Fit as I don't think it gives you much serious exercise (and I don't like the rather portly Mii!) Brilliant for having fun when the family are over tho

I have been regularly doing the EA Sports Active which is brilliant and I have just bought the extended one for when I finish my current 30 day one

I have been running around wii fatty island, as we like to call it.

I am slightly disturbed by the chubby Mii

I like the yoga and muscle work outs and I hope no one ever sees me doing the hula hoop.

The thing I dislike about it the most is the gaps inbetween the exersizes. I dont want to hear that I am wobbling a bit or that I have perfect posture when I clearly dont  and where I am on the ranking etc. I just want to get on with it and do one excersise after the other.

Can it be set to do this and I just havent noticed?

The gaps are annoying...

And I don't trust the scales - mainly because the board stands on carpet in our room, and your weight can vary amazingly in just one day, depending on where stand etc!

The EA Sports Active is definitely more of a work out - it is less fun, but makes you work!

If you have the wii fit plus you can out together routines that flow from each other and you don't have all the annoying chatter. My Mii doesn't even have a neck, which is annoying as the last time i looked I definitely had one.

I think I'll check out the EA sports active as well.

I still want a wii & wii fit. I see Argos no longer do the console & balance board bundle.

I want to be able to get it from a shop, as I'm impatient when I order something online.

Emma.x

I know it's online but the bundle is £124 on amazon, and you can pay for same day delivery

Ooh you'd like My Fitness Coach then. I worked up a real "glow" ;) when I use that! OH (black belt karate instructor) has even set up his own profile and uses it regularly. He huffs and puffs but says "I'm just stretching out before going to the gym"

(I got mine on http://www.play.com £12 free delivery)

I like Wii Fit but Wii Fit Plus is even better!!! Can't get enough of the segway game 8) and snow balling. And flying the bird to the platforms. And tilt city... (goes on)

between last Saturday and Sunday I had apparently lost a stone (I wish)! And then I gained 13lbs again by Monday. On Sunday it was telling how worried it was about my health. On Monday it was telling me I seemed to have gained a lot of weight

I've lost over a stone (nearly a stone and a half!!!!) in the last 3 months using my Wii (and eating sensibly, of course!) It's so satisfying seeing the graph on Wii Fit Plus! (but I don't like doing the body test when I know it's gone up a bit  )

I've got Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus (which I agree is much better than the original), and also have My Fitness Coach (not so keen) and The Biggest Loser (quite like the routines on this one - even though I struggle even with the "light" routines!!) But we've had the most fun (and most sweating!) with "Just Dance" - it's a really good workout, and great to play with the family, even my 4-year old loves it!

I might look at the EA Sports one - is that the one with the resistance band? See if I can lose another half stone..... I'm just on the verge of "ideal" on my BMI on Wii Fit, so not too far to go!! :D

If you have the EA sports active can I heartily recommend the EA sports - More Workouts. It is so much better than the first one. There is not the endless repetition of the arm exercises with the band that you have on the first one. It has an obstacle course, which you run, jump, dive and kick your way around, tummy exercises (yuk), press ups on the balance board (double yuk), warm up and cool down stretches, squash, extended boxing (and I have only done 2 sessions to get all that) It takes place on a tropical island as well! It also has the arm stretches but just not so many.

It doesn't come with the leg strap so you either need to have bought the first game or buy the strap separately. The programme is 60 days rather then 30 and you can import your profile from the first game.

It's only around £12-£15 and you do really feel like you have had a proper workout at the end. It's also much more fun than the original
