mostin Posted January 27, 2010 Share Posted January 27, 2010 The Red Sussex group got to play out for most of the day today so by the time the Buff group got let out to play they were pretty worked up. I let them out and then turned by back to get something out of the shed when I felt a big thud on the back of my leg , it was so windy I thought something had blown in to me, but when I turned round to see what had happened, it was Bill who had charged into my leg . He's far too big to start any of that behaviour, don't know if he was trying to tread my leg , or chase me away from his girls but I wasn't having any of that . I chased him down and sat him on my knee in a garden chair and held him in a cuddle for nearly an hour , it drove him nuts, I'm glad I can't read chicken minds because the looks he was giving me were pure evil . The girls had a great time, getting to peck where they liked, without him saying "no here's the best corn, no here's the best corn, no peck over here" honestly, no wonder they wander off and ignore him . Eventually I let him go, and leave my knee when he wanted to, he stayed for about 20 secs of his own free will before he jumped off, just to prove a point I think , and then immediately went back to trying unsuccessfully to boss the girls around again. I asked him if he had anything to say..........obviously being a bloke, he can't admit to being wrong, but I think we may have come to an understanding now . Another wonderful day spent in my mad chicken world . mostin Posted January 27, 2010 Author Share Posted January 27, 2010 Yes, Shaun is punished by cuddles too , one of the reason he lets me get more pets is that he says it dilutes my cuddles around to bearable levels . He always jokes that I have just too much love to give and that is why all our animals and him have that beaten and resigned look, as they now just give in and accept the amount of cuddles they have to put up with . I think they all love it really , they just can't admit it . Thank you both for the complements about my boys handsomeness, I hope he isn't getting too big headed .
