Sooo much pooping

Well, it was about time really, with 11 girls laying and soon to be 16 laying and only the two nest boxes in the cube and eglu, extra space was definately needed

So, we went scurrying around in the loft and found an old games table and the top of an old wardrobe, with a bit of jigging with the jigsaw, this is what we came up with

 

This is Dora who was really inquisitive and the first to go up to have a look

 

 

 

 

So far three of them have been to have a look, so we'll wait and see if they like it enough to lay in there

If they dont use it try hanging some strips of fabric down over the doorway as it will make it darker inside

Try leaving two or three (marked) eggs in there to show them where to lay. They soon get the hang of it.

Thank you Seagazer, although they haven't laid in there yet but still early days. The fabric strip curtains went up today and i left a couple of eggs in there too. hopefully they'll get the idea soon because today there was 7 eggs in the cube nest box and another 3 in the eglu nest box. When the 5 bantams start laying too there's gonna be some lenghty queues for those next boxes

Yay They are laying in there now, at least 4/5 of them have laid in it. I took Redwings advice and put up little curtains for them also they have stopped laying in the eglu, so thats good news, it will be free and available for the bantam girls when they start to lay
