tom123
A small, shallow dish of water Damp kitchen roll Wet dishcloth on top of the water channels but below the tray?? Good luck, not long now!
Lewis
What % RH is it at? A wet sponge and flannel is what I'd use Try and be quick putting them in though, so you don't loose any humidity that is in there.
chick wiggle
Ok, done that, will check it later . Thank You
feemcg
I just fill one channel in my Brinsea and don't check the humidity any more (I used to obsess over getting it right!). It always varies at different times of year or depending on outside conditions and doesn't make any difference to my hatch rates. The important bit is that there is a marked increase in humidity on day 18/19........or you can incubate dry.......a lot of people don't put any water in till day
Redwing
Check the vent and close it a bit if you can (must stay at least a third open though) Once the first chick hatches the humidity will shoot up anyway so dont worry unduly
chick wiggle
Thanks again, I hve got the humidity up to about 55% now, have just put a little sponge in to hoick it up a bit more. As ive said before, (being a bit pessimistic about these eggs ) Im thinking of this as a practice run now so i can sort out any quirks or problems before i try another batch. feemcg
Just worked out what day you're eggs are on ( I need to keep up ). Day 18/19 I fill the 2nd trough and put strips of kitchen roll along to soak up some of the water. Humidity then goes up to about 55-65%.
