welshnik
I'm sitting here cringing listening to our three new girls try and out-bok our five existing ones. Has anyone ever had a neighbour complain about the noise? I know they'll settle down when they are settled, as such, but this morning it's quite loud (even though we don't have a double glazed patio door). What are the noise regulations, if any?? dancing cloud
Not sure on the legal technicalities, but don't panic they do get past this "shouting match" stage fairly quickly. When I introduced my little girls last year, the big girls had a couple of days of doing nothing but shout at them. I did explain to the nearest neighbours what was going on and they just thought it was funny (I'm very lucky with my neighbours ) Could you distract your little madams with something like a cabbage to play with - might keep them quiet for a while? At least at this time of year people are not likely to have windows open to hear them!
patsylabrador
I have had the neighbour who lives at the end of my garden commenting loudly about how selfish I am, which was ridiculous as the chickens were just scratching and saying geburr at the time - I think she watches too much Eastenders! Chooks did let the side down last sunday though - they objected to her husband being on his garage roof and stood on their coop roof and shouted non-stop at him. It was actually very funny. PS - they let their dog bark at 11pm and their kids are often drinking, swearing and screaming far into the night in the summer. Hypocrits. Redwing
It might be worth being proactive and going around to any that are tricky and telling them that the noise should only last a few days (Take eggs)
