Just ordered a walk in run :-) It's arrived (pic)

Recommended Posts

I've just ordered a 6 x9 ft walk in run from e-bay!! :D:D:D Just have to lay a lot of slabs, and put in some drainage before it arrives. I'm getting 2 more chickens in March as well. Definately an Amber Star (because I miss Willow lots) and I think a Bluebelle???

Cant wait!!! :D:D:D:D:D

It's this one Walk in run

What do you think?? I'm going to put a canvas tarp roof on it, and add some skirting at the bottom to keep the aubiose in. The budget for this is limited - it's taken a year to save up for it! I think it looks ok for the money - not the standard of aviaries4U though, but a good option for anyone on a budget I think.

It's not arriving until 11th March, by which time I should have the base done. Hopefully collect new chickens the day after, then take some photos! :D:D:D

Well, slabs are down, drainage is done, and WIR arrived yesterday. I'm realy pleased with it - would recommend these for anyone looking for a cheaper option.

There is still some work to do in the area - bit of a muddy mess after the project! The roof is another budget solution which should work well - its just a canvas tarp, but heavy stuff so should last a good while.

Daisy and Daphne are new arrivals (Bluebelle and Sussex Star). Amber and Pepper and the eglu will be moving in sometime soon, but they are very :evil: since the new girls arrived

How are you getting on with the aubiose? I have a similar set up but am afraid the rain will get the aubiose wet. Currrently I am on wood chips. I will be using the flooring for compost so would prefer the aubiose assuming when wetted it isn't a right off.

Well done! Good work. You are so far ahead of me. Will be a few weeks yet before we have our WIR built. Did manage to lay 17 slabs today - for raised veg beds that we need to put up before we can fill with soil from the area that we're putting the WIR into. Spent all weekend in the garden - but it is so slow!

Troyca, I am going to have the roof slightly oversized to make a porch to help keep rain out. Is that something you could try?

I'm thinking of using the corrugated plastic sheets on the windy/rain sides hooked onto cuphooks to keep rain out and take off when fine. Has anyone tried that?
