Well the WIR is nearly there !

Slabs are down and panels made just all needs screwing together !

Will try and add some pictures later :?

I would like to put some natural wood perches inside. Is there any rules about the kind of wood you can use as I know with parrots/cockatiels you should only use apple wood?

Also how much approx do people pay for a bale of the Auboise/Hemcore ?

Thanks again

No rules about wood for perches - they don't nibble the wood like parrots do. I use old christmas trees, strip the branches and use the main trunk for the perch. Aubiose is about £8 a bale from my supplier (or at least it was last time I bought some - probably last summer :? )

I paid £8.50 for a bale of Aubiose a couple of weeks ago. The branches are Leylandii, willow and tree with pale leaves. :D They don't peck the branches except an old rotten log which they love. It's leylandii and they are going for the insects. :D

Show us yer run

Lying on the floor, I've got the trunk of a buddlea (sp?) that had to be cut down to make way for the WIR and lots of pine branches from the local woods :)

One is about 8ft long and goes from floor to shelf. I cut off the sub-branches but left mini stumps there, which is good as the girls use them for grip (all the bark's long gone so it's very smooth). Ah, here you go, an old photo... the horizontal perches are ballustrades from Wickes for £1.42 :D
