I've been toying with the idea of making a new perch from left-over bits of wood.... and here it is! My square-based pyramid And the girls obliged when the camera came out (I know photos are compulsory!):

 

 

 

 

Thankfully, Mr Frutti has lots of electric saws/drills etc which made an easy job of it! It's just a square base, four diagonal uprights and then four horizontals, finished off with a final sanding.

 

OK I admit it, I had to hook a feeder in the middle with corn to get them to use it. But I had 75% success (Roxy was the only one who's ignored it so far - madam!).

Thank you ladies! But oh dear, I've changed it already!

 

Yesterday, I had to bribe them (with corn in that mini feeder) to use it whereas I want them to clamber on it and perch because they WANT to, not because I want them too

 

So today, one of the horizontal perches came off and has been replaced with a long branch higher up so they can perch easily with nothing in their way. Works a treat and even Roxy was posing on it this afternoon, one foot on the new branch and the other on the top (photos will come tomorrow as I've nearly finished the run at long last ).

 

I don't have any more wood left (it used up ALL my offcuts from the run, which had been under the garden bench since November ) otherwise I'd make you all one each

 

But I can give you instructions! All you need is woods, screws, an electric mitre saw, electric drill, electric sander, and too much time on your hands
