Seagazer
Introducing Betty the who doesn't appear to like having her photo taken very much and.........wait for it................Augustas (YS shouldn't have watched Heston's Willy Wonka chocolate feast the other night) We used to read the book and watch the film and I would say Augustas Gloop in a silly voice - my fault I suppose In my mind she's going to be Lilly Augustas Augustas and Betty Butch, Flo and Ginger who I have to say are not at all impressed. They have not stopped moaning since we brought the new girls in! This is them, they've stuck together and won't go near the intro run. What a bunch of wimps I'm hoping the intros will go smoothly, as it is the new girls look a bit shell shocked but the oldies are in a complete state of panic Edited April 9, 2010 by Guest

Seagazer
Thanks everyone. Spent the afternoon in the garden so I could keep an eye on them. The weather has been so lovely. The old girls have finally gone near the new ones and Ginger has had a couple of spats through the wire with Augustas. I'm going to have to invest in a water pistol, I have a plant sprayer and it doesn't quite work properly. Lovely Betty just tries to stay out of it and seems very gentle. I've got a cat basket in the foldable run and I've put a towel over it, will this really be enough to keep them warm? I'm probably going to be a bit neurotic They are really big girls so they will probably fill it, I know that will keep them warm being snuggled up together. I've got a small dog crate but that will take up quite a bit of room in the little run so hope they will just snuggle in the basket.
ValerieR
Beautiful, Ann - what kind is the black one? (Please excuse my ignorance!) I also love your black cat! Gorgeous. I used to have a black cat - sadly missed. What is yours called? Val
Seagazer
Beautiful, Ann - what kind is the black one? (Please excuse my ignorance!) I also love your black cat! Gorgeous. I used to have a black cat - sadly missed. What is yours called? Val Hi Val, thank you very much. The black girl with the ginger girls is a Miss Pepperpot, she's an original omlet girl and her name is Butch - don't ask - just accept that my children like weird names for the pets My black cat is absolutely gorgeous and he knows it!! His name is Dave and he's half Siamese so he likes having a chat. My DD has just taken an absolutely beautiful photo of him. We usually have trouble photographing him as he gets lost in the background. What was your cat called?
Seagazer
Well the new girls didn't look like they were going to go into the cat basket so we took them off their perch and put them in. They promptly came back out and went back onto the perch so I think they slept there all night. The old girls went to bed making a racket and have woken up making a racket good job my closet neighbours like the sound of the chickens. Hopefully they'll settle down a bit better today. The newbies are very calm though and quiet - so far.
ValerieR
Hi Anne My enormous glossy black cat was called Alasdair. Dave is really beautiful. I'd like to see more pics! Better shut up now - this is after all a CHICKEN forum
