Valkyrie
Yoooohoooooo! Morning! Well we have been working really hard in the garden - clearing the middle section - yukky bindweed and all sorts in there, cleared out the old patio roses that never did well in it and potted up the pinks in the hope that they will survive being moved. They are old fashioned varieties - one is Fenbow's Nutmeg Clove which was around in the 1300's - but the girls were eating it and it looked very sad so probably was going to lose it anyway. Sooooooo we bought some blackcurrant bushes and planted them in there. Christian is going to give me some of his strawberry pottings and now we have space for them - and more bushes! Next I continued to power hose the patio - which is turning into a very long job because it hadn't been done for ages. Such a boring monotonous job - yet strangely relaxing. Until you look up, see the sun going down and the girls are tapping their toes watching you. Oops, better stop, rushed down with their tea, rushed in to help a teensy bit with dinner (Murray did it all bar the cheese sauce - well done Muz), and discovered that I had wobbly hands from the vibration and stiff neck, arms, legs - you name it - it ceased up! So chilled and tried not to doze and went to bed early, only to be pounced on by an 18 year old who still thinks she's 5! She wiggled in between us (on top of the bed and so dragging the covers off me - hmmph), and in the end we turned the light out in the hope that she would go away - it took long enough, but I had warmed right through by then. Woke up at 1.30 thinking it was about 5-ish! Must have gone right off into a deep sleep. Feel rather shattered again now though.
Chicken Shirl
Morning, hope the tremmers have worn off Koojie. Be safe driving into London Tasha. Yuk!! I did the M25 from Horsham to Richmond for a few years. Exhausting. My boss drove from Newbury every day, and stopped at the swimming baths every morning and swam a mile in an open air pool summer and winter. Am shivering at the thought of it. Can't wait to see the new chickies Em. Busy day today. Off to view an apartment for the father of my children who fancies a winter home over here. I should be pleased about that, but strangely I am not, then going to spanish, this afternoon I have the gym. Will be glad to be home and in the garden with my chooks at about 6pm. Have a good day xx
Valkyrie
All's well thanks ChickyShirl - just stiff a bit now. Arm playing up as usual. Really must see the doc about that - I expect I'll be saying that again - I never do see the doc if I can help it. Although he is really sweet and comes from somewhere in South America - can have a good laugh with him (our old doc that retired was a dragon - her bedside manner could have been better, but I got her laughing with me eventually . . . probably laughing at me would be more the mark). The girls are really noisy first thing in the morning now - I don't know whether it's the blue tits babies in the nest box that triggers them or the Canada geese setting them off. I reckon that somebody's back door is opened and they think it's ours and wonder why they haven't been let out. Seems too regular a time. Well number one son has requested a lift to work. Methinks I will have to have words about his conveyor belt of friends staying here. His friend left yesterday morning and the GF arrived a couple of hours later. Now I look forward to having my house to myself - Monday in particular - but she stays here all day while Ciaran is out. So not happy about that. Snot on!
