Election

Recommended Posts

My DD who is at uni received a postal vote card, has sent it off and then the other day we received another one for her. What's that all about? Does the first one not count? I've not sent it up to her yet so I doubt she'll get it in time to send back off. :?

If Gordon gets in I think we'll be applying for political assylum - anywhere!

Debs has told me that Plaid doobrie's manifesto leaves much to be desired. So as they are not going to make the wearing of kilts on men compulsory I will treat them with the contempt they deserve. Although there is a Mr Beany. I told Debs that I was tempted to ask Mr Arbuthnott if I could use his swimming pool, seeing as how we've coughed up to have it cleaned. I also want to use "our" chain saw to chop the dead tree down. Debs has dared me and I mentioned it to Murray - don't you dare he said. Spoilsport.

Crikey I have just googled him - he is 6ft 1 and a 1/2 inches - talk about getting it wrong. Mind you there was a complete mob around him and we couldn't get very close.

We are now in one of the marginal seats as the present incumbant is leaving (now I could tell you a very funny story there .........!)

I am in the same seat as you, do tell the story then...

Very disappointed in the calibre of the potential replacements, one sent round a leaflet giving answers to 5 supposedly frequently asked questions. Among their idea of the sort of questions people really need to know when deciding who to vote for is "are you related to Stanley Baldwin?" (her [married] name is Baldwin). Not anything about local issues, how she stands on environmental issues, the economy, local schools etc, no, what they think the voters really want to know is whether she has married into a family which once had a prime minister in it cos that'll really make her a much better MP!!! [rant over]

The other candidates are equally uninspiring.

Does anyone know what time the polling stations are open or is it different for everyone? As Georgia has Chicken Pox I don't want to take her into town with me to vote so I'll have to go either before Mr Griffin goes to work or in the evening.
