Purplemaniacs
OH Here. Here are some pictures that Chrissie took yesterday of the new arrivals. They are pretty 'flighty' a the moment and so good pictures are hard to come by (at least thats what Chrissie says!). As Chrissie has already posted the Crested's are quite a lot older and look ready to lay, and so to her great pleasure - a blue egg with 2 hours of arriving, defintely a chicken dance moment 44gms - small but defintely blue Here is the picture And here is one with compared to one of our older hens (Latte I think) And then checked again at 16:30 today (same sort of time as yesterday) and guess what another blue egg !!! (Chrissie doesn't know yet as she is out all day !!) OH Signing out.....

Purplemaniacs
Thank you for your lovely comments. Two blue eggs I can't believe it. OH isn't sure which of the two crested laid it, the first was quite long and thin, todays is shorter and rounder, I wonder if it the same girl or the other one, sadly I have to go to school tomorrow so I can't chicken watch Still trying to decide on names. Tutti Frutti
LOVELY photos and beautiful new girlies! Names, did someone mention names? After I'd named mine last weekend, I suddenly thought I could have called them after the Desperate Housewives Bree, Gabby, Edie, Lynette, Susan, Katherine, Mary Alice......... (sad I know but it's the only TV programme I watch!)
Janty
LOVELY photos and beautiful new girlies! Names, did someone mention names? (sad I know but it's the only TV programme I watch!) Our pekin chicks look like flamenco dancers so we are thinking of calling them Celia and Juanita so you are not on your own (by the way I know that the Solis family are Mexican but we watch it too and the names sort of fit). Snowy
Yay well done! They are lovely girls! But I am jealous and struggling to restrain myself - I desperately need some more blue and white egg layers. Purplemaniacs
Yay well done! They are lovely girls! But I am jealous and struggling to restrain myself - I desperately need some more blue and white egg layers. Must sit on my hands and hide my purse Snowy, I won't tell you what I found in the eglu then when I got home from school............. a lovely blue egg and a lovely green one too So the other crested has started to lay I am so pleased I had hoped for some lovely coloured eggs, the white ones are quite a bit younger they don't have any red headgear yet just a small amount of pink, so I will have to wait for a while for white eggs.
