Laura & CTB
Today CTB is taking me to spend the night at a "haunted" hotel personally, I dont believe in ghosts but he does (says he's seen them quite a few times) and he's been nagging me to go for years Well, at first I wasn't too keen to go but now I've found out that it's actually a working farm where we'll be staying and they've got CHICKENS as well as a four poster bed and a private garden with a hot tub.! So I've packed the champagne and am raring to go - just must remember to check and see of CTB's packed the white sheet yet complete with eye holes

Cate in NZ
Have a great time Not sure about the ghosts bit, but personally I'm a bit of a sceptic, yet to be convinced in tales of paranormal activity.............. not exactly an unbliever, and wouldn't dismiss it out of hand, but not yet seen anything to convince me. So do hurry back and tell us of any ghostly goings on won't you . The champagne, hot tub and four poster bed are far more up my street . Sounds fabulous

Sounds fabulous I used to be like that Annie and now live with a ghost who is usually quiet but if something major is about to happen something usually happens Dining room door was open when I got up the other morning I wonder if it is trying to tell me something
The Dogmother
You all know what a pragmatist I am, well i believe in something like ghosts after an experience I had when my Nonna (Italian grandma) died.

hillfamily
We had a funny (peculiar) experience a few years back............... About 2am the car alarm went off................nothing unusual.........trundled downstairs and reset it and went back to bed. 20 mins later it went off again (not done that before)...............off i went to reset it only this time whilst I was up, I realised that I could smell gas. I had left the gas on, on the hob from when I was cooking dinner and hadn't noticed it all evening Not sure who warned me.............my nan had died earlier that week but it could easily have been either my dad or hubby both who had died in the previous couple of years. Which ever one it was.........I will always be grateful

Laura & CTB
Well- back from the ghost night - but obviously the ghost's night off!! The owner did give us a guided tour of the supposedly haunted rooms - still to be convinced If anyone knows of any other "haunted hotels" please advise - CTB is determined

Lesley
I don't know which one you visited this time Laura - but Ettington Park Hotel has ghosts, and I think they do some sort of break based on that. My daughter experienced strange goings on there when working in housekeeping and later, as Duty Manager - had various reports from people staying in the hotel. My son worked in the kitchens and I worked in Accounts but nothing ever happened in the daytime........ I'll find a link.... http://www.handpicked.co.uk/opencms/sites/default/HPH/hotels/ettington_park/about/index.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/coventry/features/stories/2002/09/spooktacular-tales.shtml also mentions Combe Abbey - we spent our wedding night here. http://www.mystical-www.co.uk/ghost/zmid.htm loads in here.... SarahJo
Very brave ..... I would not sleep a wink, if there was the merest hint of ghosts ... therefore possibly defeating "staying the night" purpose OR NOT, in a haunted house.
