Just done a load of washing & at the end of it found my mobile in there Its not working now - fortunately I kept my old one but didnt get round to backing up all my contact numbers on the sim card instead of the phone memory

 

The phone is now in a bowl of rice hopefully drying out & Im kicking myself.

 

Not the best start to the week!!

Try putting it in the airing cupboard, that worked well for me once.

It has happened a number of times to my children. I usually take the battery out, vacuum it and then put it in the fruit dryer, then a bag of rice of silicon satchet thingies that you find packed with electrical goods or shoes. So far only 1 has completly died.

whatever you do, don't switch it on until dry. My ED did that when hers got a drink spilt on it and it died Such a shame as it was a lovely phone.

I washed and tumble dried my husbands phone. Still worked . I did use Ecovar!

My Bluetooth Dongle went through the washing machine & tumble drier last week,& still works fine!

I did this last week - luckily "Ooops, word censored!"ody had used the toilet it took forever to dry out but its working perfectly now. My DD went when I told her and asked if I was going to wash it? I wiped it over with a bleach toilet wipe (new one obviously)

One of our directors at work gets through mobile phones very quickly, they don't survive a horse standing on them, nor being left on top of a fence post when 6" of snow falls on it!

Ok, beat this.

My husband droped his phone down a cutomers chimney,while he was working on their roof.

The bottom of the chimney was blocked off,so it couldn't be retrieved,& they had to put up with it ringing all the time until the battery died

 

Luckily it was insured

Imagine if he hadn't noticed he'd lost his phone. That would have driven the house owners crazy wondering where the ringing was coming from .
