Lizzie50
They are here and I am trying to get some photographs on asap! Black Silkie Mary (likes to sunbathe) White Silkie Lulu (nosy) Gold Silkie Agnes (greedy one) Partridge Silke Henrietta (the boss) I have done nothing all weekend apart from sunbathe and stare at my chicks. I have fussed around them, checked out their poos, topped up their water, decided they needed more bedding in their house ~ so did all that again. Made my husband get corrugated sheeting so they had nice shelter and put some shading over that too.........fussed about some more and read 'how to settle your chickens into their new home' about ten times. I was rewarded for my efforts when Agnes and Lulu ate some corn from my hand

Lizzie50
Hi Christian, your cough is getting worse The chicks are so cute. They are already eating from my hand and letting me stroke them. I left work early so I could sit with them (how bad is that!!!). Had this dream all day of sitting beside the chicks, drinking coffee and reading a magazine so did it! I had to tear myself away to make tea (and eat it). They have put themselves to bed I have had a cuddle from them all although they were a little scared of the whole experience. I am having trouble with trying to get photographs onto the site you can download from etc but will try and do it tomorrow night when I have more time (that is after chicken sitting, tea making and perhaps spending time with my family!) Christian, I have used the Stalosan F and put the woodchip down too. I have put red mite powder in the house. Should I also use Diatom and what was the nice smelly stuff you had? Is there anything I am missing. Oh and I did make up a solution of oils (citronella, lavendar, tea tree and eucalyptus) and water to spray everywhere and keep away flies. Phew I am shattered! Christian
Hi Christian, your cough is getting worse I know, you didn't bring me enough chocolate so the cough has returned Glad you are enjoying them! The nice smelly stuff was Barrier red mite powder. I am addicted to it. You could put diatom at the ends of the roosting bars if you wanted too as well? Send me a Pm if you are having trouble with pictures.

Lizzie50
I now have better photographs so will get Christian to do it all again for me (I hope!) The little house is a house for the chicks to do the dusting thing which Christian's neighbour made for me - it is so cute and I know the chickens will probably totally ignore it but it really looks nice in the garden !
