Cinnamon
I eBay a lot, & have noticed that since eBay changed the rules so that a seller cannot leave anything other than positive feedback for their buyer,I have had so many more timewasters. People bidding for the heck of it,non payers...they are driving me mad I sold some festival tickets today (was going to go,but now have to go to a wedding instead),& the buyer contacted me to say that they have decided not to go after all,as they didn't realise how far it was to the venue from where they live in Ireland So I have to relist them now, wasting my time & effort,as well as meaning that I don't get my money for at least another week (I have spent it already ) Have sent a second chance to the next highest bidder, but as they are brand new to the site, I don't expect they will go for it. People *humph*
Chucky Mama
The new system is very unfair. I have seen people tick the positive feedback but write negative feedback in the text to warn others. I don't know if you can still do that though.
Ain't Nobody Here
How annoying . I've just started selling on Ebay too . It's all going well so far apart from one chap who needed reminding to pay me . I'm sure I'll have a dodgy buyer at some point though .
Guest
Just had the same problem. Sold some tickets - she asked could I wait till Tuesday for payment as she got paid then, then she said PayPal were doing the thing where they put a deposit into your account and you have to verify it. Then she went quiet. Looked at her feedback and she has bought another pair AND PAID a couple of days later for a tenner less. So I've had to wait 5 days to put through the non-payer thing and get my fees credited so I can relist. Of course I sold them when I did to pay for some other tickets and I've now been down this money for an extra month. Love to be able to leave her appropriate feedback - she has a low score and it would decimate it. As she deserves.
grracee
I've had exactly the same thing happen aswell. Since I decided I wasn't going to use my incubator again I put it on ebay & someone bidded on it who was a new ebayer with no feedback & never paid for it. I contacted them & all they said was "ring me" and put a telephone number. So i contacted them again & asked whether they actually realised they had won the item & that it was collection only and i havent heard anything from them since. So i re-listed it the other day, so fingers crossed it wont happen again! It really is annoying though
Geoid
I always put it my listings that bidders with 5 or less positive feedback have to email me before bidding.
grracee
I always put it my listings that bidders with 5 or less positive feedback have to email me before bidding. Yeah, i've done that now. It's not a bad idea
Cinnamon
You can actually change your setting so that only those with a certain amount of feedback can bid. I did all this, still got a muppet winning my auction though
Guest
Same here - my muppet had a feedback of 18 so got through. Gonna re-list tonight. Gotta get some debts paid off before I'm unemployed in September!
Ain't Nobody Here
I thought my listing stated "no international buyers" but I've had 2 so far .
chickencam
You will always get international people trying it on, I think that they can log in through ebay.co.uk. We had grief in the early days with a couple of international buyers, so we strictly do UK only now.
Cinnamon
I don't believe it. Re listed yesterday, sold last night & AGAIN I have someone saying that they now don't want them! I am beginning to wonder if they are cursed.............................
WitchHazel
Sarah, that's AWFUL. Can you add in your listing: "Due to timewasters I have to add this: PLEAE ONLY BID ON THESE TICKETS IF YOU INTEND TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE. Please remember that a bid is a legally binding contract. Thank you" And if it happens again, tell the purchaser that they have to buy the tickets and that they can always relist them. EDITED TO ADD: Oh, I see you did that already! What a stupid bidder. I bet they are backing out because you don't have the tickets in hand. You might find it easier to complete the sale if you wait until you have the tickets in hand before listing them? Cinnamon
Oh don't worry - I will be going through the dispute process all right! I have a HUGE disclaimer on the listing - both buyers seem to be youngish, possibly teens,so I think they just haven't looked. you would think that as they are a LOT less expensive than weekend tickets that it would ring a few bells! No one has tickets in hand until a week before the event......I am offering to email on my booking confirmation as proof, plus I have almost 2000 positive feedback. WitchHazel
Sarah, that's dreadful! I can't think of anything hepful to say!
Ain't Nobody Here
How infuriating . You really have to wonder why some people bother bidding at all . I've heard nowt from a buyer since Monday (I've sent a polite note saying I'm ready to send their item). How long do you wait before getting cross ? They could be away for a week, I suppose, so if I've not heard anything by next week I'll spring into action .
