migsy
Can anybody tell me how I should feed my chickens grit? I've had the grit in a feeder but it just gets completely covered in woodchip from the run. If I put it outside it is going to get really wet. I'm not sure how to get them to eat it but they do FR a lot so they might be picking up grit anyway. I'd be grateful for any thoughts! Christian
Just leave it in a little cup hanging from the run. They will dip into it if/when they need it.
blueandwhite
Hi mine is in a plastic jug; i've put the handle through the mesh of the eglu run under the cover so it can't get wet. My two are out and about most of the time but still help themselves sometimes.
chicken bark
Mine's in a little coop cup/galley cup hanging from the side of the run.
migsy
Great ideas! Thanks. I think I can find a cup with a handle that I will be able to attach to the side of the run.
Chucky Mama
I don't give mine any. I used to and they never touched it. I think mine get plenty free ranging plus there will be some in the food.
honorandkit
Pets at home do metal cups that can be bolted onto a run. Very cheap and work perfectly!
